I am excited to share some photos from our recent trip to Mexico (see below).
Our family was incredibly fortunate to celebrate Monique’s 60th birthday with a memorable visit to Morelia and Mexico City.
We began our trip in Morelia, where Laura and Jose welcomed us, alongside many of our extended family members, with a beautiful Posadas celebration. The party was filled with new connections, love, and unforgettable dancing. It was such a joy to meet our relatives, experience the tradition, and feel so warmly included.
We absolutely loved touring around Morelia. We visited José and Laura’s workshop, ate some of the best tacos and carnitas we’ve ever had, visited Tzintzuntzan, and bought beautiful pottery from a nearby artisan village. We were lucky to have amazing guides—Laura, Alexandria, José, Leti, and Leo—who shared the history of each place we visited.
We then spent a few days in Mexico City, spending quality time with Ricardo, Mario, and their families. We explored Coyoacán, attending a lucha libre match, explored Chapultepec Park, visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and enjoyed colorful boat ride in Xochimilco.
We’re beyond grateful for the warmth and generosity we received from all of our family in Morelia and Mexico City. Meeting so many members of our extended family and experiencing the beauty of these places together made this trip incredibly special—one we will cherish forever.
Happy 60th Birthday, Mom! We love you!
