An interesting part of their story is – Carmen and her sister, Margie married Bill and his brother, Leonard. In addition, Carmen and Margie’s sister, Merce married Joe Rustoni, Bill and Leonard’s cousin! One more item – one more sister, Ellen married Ambrose Assessor, who lived two doors down from the Radjewski boys on Cooper Street in Detroit!!
We are very fortunate to have some 8mm home movie footage of William and Carmen’s wedding in 1950 (many thanks to Uncle Joe & Aunt Helen’s family for sharing the footage from their family’s collection!).

Aunt Carmen, is my Godmother. I am named after her and my Daddy’s Mother Carmen, in Mexico. ( I think)
I have a number of Memories of Aunt Carmen.
As a little girl, I was in Aww of her painted long fingernails! I had never seen them on a lady before!
As I got older I was impressed with how she worked outside the home. When in those days most married women were Homemakers.
I was always impressed with how outspoken Aunt Carmen was. You always knew where you stood with her.

I briefly lived with Carmen and Bill. The first part was shortly after I was discharged from the Army and I had a job with the Market Analysis department of the Chrysler car company and then later when I was a freshman at Wayne State University. Carmen and I had some great conversations on many subjects. She was definitely ahead of her time for women’s liberation.

I remember Aunt Carmen gave my Twin and I perms. And as a Real Estate Agent she took Gary and I around to look for a home.
